Designed for Native nation governments, leaders, administrators, employees, and citizens, the Rebuilding Native Nations course series examines the critical governance and development challenges facing Native nations and explores what is working, what isn't, and why as Native nations move aggressively to reclaim control over their own affairs and create vibrant futures of their own design.

A growing number of Native nations are already using select Rebuilding Native Nations courses to advance their nation-building goals. Below are just some of the ways these nations are using the courses:

  • requiring them as part of orientation for newly hired tribal employees
  • providing them as professional development options for existing tribal employees
  • integrating them into educational programs for candidates seeking elected office in tribal government or elsewhere (local school board, state legislature, etc.)
  • building the knowledge of program and departmental staff to achieve effectively execute the nation's strategic priorities
  • offering them to citizens who are interested in learning more about nation building, how their nation can strengthen its governance system, and the role they should play in that process

Each of the eight courses is designed for individual, self-paced learning; however, each course also contains group learning activities designed to provide participants taking the courses as part of a group the opportunity to collectively apply what they've learned to their own nations, positions, and responsibilities. Upon completing a course, participants receive an official certificate of completion.

NNI offers customized course packages featuring volume discounts to Native nations. To learn more about how your nation or organization can best use the curriculum and what it will cost, please click here or call 877-508-4442.
